I welded one time when I was in high school and always wanted to learn how to really do it. This seems to be a decent welder at a good price point. I have a friend with a company that generates some scrap steel, so I grabbed a few pieces from him to play with. I did pretty well with the spot welds, though I still need some practice with continuous welds.This welder is a nice size to haul around and it’s not too heavy. It is fairly simple to operate, though if you are a newbie like me, you may need to watch a few videos to learn the lingo and get some needed tips.I appreciate that this operates on standard 120V, so no higher voltages or three phase required.If you are looking for a good entry level machine to learn on or to do the occasional odd welding job, this is certainly one to consider.

I got this welder mainly for small home projects, and it seriously exceeded my expectations. The build quality feels solid, and for a 120v portable machine, it packs a lot of power.I love that it’s synergic, which makes setup so much easier especially if you’re not a full time welder. It automatically adjusts settings based on wire size and material thickness, which saves time and guesswork. The large LED display is clear and easy to read, and switching between MIG flux core, MMA, and TIG modes is straightforward. I recently used it to repair a cracked metal gate at home. The welds came out clean and strong, and the machine maintained a steady arc the whole time. I was honestly impressed at how smooth it ran without overheating. It made the job way easier than I expected, and now the gate feels solid again.It’s lightweight and portable enough to move around the garage or take to a job site. Recently use this on a job and it worked extremely well. I put this guy in the back of my truck and was able to get out to the job site, hook up and get running. It handled the job nicely and didn't pressure the machine too much. For the value I would definitely recommend!

When this box arrived on my front steps, I was initially confused thinking ‘they sent me the wrong thing, as there was no way my new wire welder could fit in that tiny box’. Boy was I wrong.This thing is very compact in size but perfect for tossing in the back of a work truck, with a small generator for a power supply, for doing small repair jobs out in the field. Being so compact, hardly takes up any space in the truck leaving plenty of room for other gear and supplies. Being that this is a flux core only welder, there is no need to hassle with shielding gas tanks or worry about damaged regulators or leaky hoses. And since it is flux core, your welds aren’t affected by the wind blowing away your shielding gas and corrupting the weld.This welder is fairly intuitive but reading the manual does help with some settings and configurations. Once you get the basics down everything else is a breeze. The only negative I have with it is the low quality grounding clamp, but that is easy enough to replace (along with the cable) for better and more reliable grounding system. For the low cost of this unit, I didn’t feel the need to drop a star on that account but figured it still needed mentioning, none the less.
